Broadway is one of the most beautiful villages in England. It is often referred to as “the Jewel of the Cotswolds” situated just over the border in Worcestershire.
The main street (High Street) in Broadway is lined with horse chestnut trees and is much wider than other Cotswold streets in similar towns and villages. Ancient honey coloured cotswold stone cottages and period houses date back to the 16th century. The Cotswold Stone found in the buildings of Broadway is noticeably richer in colour than some other areas of the Cotswolds where the stone can be quite pale in colour.
Broadway’s unique location makes it an ideal base for touring the Cotswold’s numerous villages and is within easy reach of such places as Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford.
Broadway offers a wealth of accommodation ranging from Traditional Bed & Breakfast to the finest Country House Hotel. A wide choice of Holiday Cottages and Apartments are available for rental and excellent Mobile Home, Caravan and Camping facilities are available on the outskirts of the village.
Broadway’s shopping facilities will delight you. Whether it is a Cashmere Sweater, Designer Jewellery or just a small Gift or Momento, fine quality Antique Furniture & Paintings or a budget priced print of the Cotswolds. There are shops here to supply all your needs.
Broadway was the inspiration to a number of artists and writers including Vaughan Williams, Elgar and William Morris.
