Lacock is a village where time stands still. The medieval houses beside the road, with minimal street lighting when it's dark, are close by the church and ancient abbey that was closed by Henry VIII as a part of his reforms. Later, Lacock Abbey became famous as the home of Fox Talbot, and was the location at which he took his first reversal process photographic image and set going a process that predominated photography until the coming of the digital camera.
